Iguazu Falls trip
Our three days travel itinerary to Iguazu Falls in Brazil, includes a day trip to the Argentine side and Devil’s Throat Trail.
Location and how to get there
The Iguaçu Falls are a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986 and one of the Seven Nature Wonders of the World.
With over 2,700 m of extension, 20 significant waterfalls and over 250 waterfalls is one of the largest and most impressive in the world.
They are located on the border between Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, in the state of Paraná. Both Natural Parks (Argentina and Brazil) protects the region’s enchanting flora and fauna.
Day 1 Iguazu National Park Argentina Trail
Don’t miss it to visit the Argentine side of the Falls!! The Brazilian side is beautiful, you have a panoramic view, but on the Argentine side, you feel very close and can have a dimension of the greatness of the Falls.
Also, only from the Argentine side, you can make the trail to The Devil’s Throat Canyon.
Another Tipp, especially for the Argentinian side, is to bring some mineral water and snacks.
Our guide stopped at a supermarket before we arrived at the Park, the prices at Parque dos Hermanos are very high! Entrance to the Park for residents of Mercosur: 250 pesos.
For those who want to visit the Park for two days in a row, the second day has a 50% discount.
Devil’s Throat Trail
The Paseo Garganta del Diablo is a one km-long (0.6 mi) trail that brings visitors directly over the falls of Devil’s Throat, the highest and deepest of the falls. The Devil’s Throat canyon is 80–90 m wide and 70–80 m deep. Left of this canyon, another part of the river forms 160-200 individual falls. (Wiki)
Day 2 National Park Brazil Trail
The entrance fee for Brazilians in the Park is R$ 36 Brazilian Reais. Another option is to buy the 3 Wonders Passport, which includes entrance to the Itaipu Plant, a trip to the Landmark of the 3 Borders, and Falls for R$ 99 Brazilian Reais.
Parque das Aves
The second most visited attraction in Foz do Iguaçu; Brazil is the Parque das Aves. Here are more than 1,400 birds, 150 bird species. Around 50% coming from seizures. Parque das Aves is located in an area of 16 hectares of Atlantic Forest next to the Iguazú National Park.
Paudimar Cataratas Hotel
We stayed at the Paudimar Cataratas Hotel, well located, great value per money, and delicious food. There is lots of space for children to play, swimming pool and soccer fields.
