Did you know why Mount Rigi is the Queen of the Mountains in Switzerland? Here, in 1871, the Vitznau-Rigi Bahn started operating and was the first mountain railway in Europe! Rigi Kaltbad, located on Rigi first, has had a bathing tradition for 600 years. In times gone by, people from all over the world were attracted to the healing waters of the ‘Kaltbad’ mineral springs. Some tips for a family day trip on this fantastic mountain!!
Family trip to Mount Rigi
From Arth-Goldau: arriving at Arth-Goldau by train or car and board up to Rigi Kulm on the Cogwheel Railway.
From Weggis or Vitznau
From Vitznau, you go up with the cogwheel railway, and from Weggis, the experience is board on the Cable Car up to Rigi First. From Weggis/Vitznau, you can combine a boat trip to your ticket from Lucerne.

Rigi First and Rigi Kaltbad
You can visit the Rigi Kaltbad and enjoy the Spa. During summertime, there is a special price combine day pass/Spa admission for Fr.60.- after 15:00. It is on our bucket list!

Tuesday specials at Rigi, day card for Fr.-44 and lunch for two for one on Restaurant Bahnhöfli in Rigi Staffel (From January to Mai and November to December)
From Zurich, travel time around 1 hour by train or 45 min by car. From Lucerne to Weggis/Vitznau 20 min, Arth-Goldau 35 min.
