Babymoon in New York – 4 Days travel itinerary

Here some tips and highlights from our Babymoon in NYC. We tried not only to do the main Sightseeing of New York but also have some time to walk around and enjoy the city. Who doesn’t love NYC? Even for those who haven’t been here before, New York looks familiar to all of us. The city has so many attractions and things to do, and every New York trip can be different!

We choose New York for our Babymoon, and we did it right. Of course, it has a lot of cool stuff to do with kids over there, but surely this city is one of the most special to enjoy as a couple!
Our travel itinerary included a visit to the Gospel Choir at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Cultural church in Downtown Brooklyn. It was for me very emotional!! I always dream of seeing it a Gospel Choir live!!

Details of our trip

Thursday

Fly to Zurich-New York with United Airlines and arrive at JFK airport.
Shuttle bus to Manhattan.
Check-in at the Royal Hotel & Hostel on the Upper West Side.
Evening walk on Broadway and Times Square.
Smile, you’re in New York! =)

Friday

Morning walk in the Central Park and Breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien (2463 Broadway New York, NY 10025), link here.

As many NYC hotels don’t serve breakfast, the way is to see a place near the hotel when you arrive, especially if you are with children. In our case, we left the first morning, walked in Central Park, and stopped for breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien.
We followed by Subway to Port Authority, and we went by bus to Central Valley, Premium Outlet Woodbury Common, link here.
Some of the brands of Woodburry Premium Outlet: Armani Exchange, Breitling, Burberry, Dior, Diesel, Disney Store, Gucci, Godiva, Karl Lagerfeld, Lacoste, Le Creuset, Michael Kors, Prada, and many others!

Shuttle bus to Central Valley costs around $30 per person, round trip, departing from Port Authority.

In the evening, walk-in Manhattan and visit the 86 floor of the Empire State Building, link here (Adult ticket $32).
Another option to see New York from the top is the Rockefeller Center “Top of the Rock,” the ticket price is the same, and the wait times are shorter.

Chrysler Building.

Saturday

The next morning, luckily, on the way from the hotel to the subway, we stopped at Big Daddy’s, so yes! Typical American Dining, as we see in the movies! Typical American breakfast with bacon, pancakes, fried or scrambled eggs, coffee and orange juice and toast (What about Bob $12.50) or Bow Wow Wow ($15.50) ham sandwich, cheese, eggs in the waffle.

Bow wow wow!!

Friday and Saturday from 08:00 am to midnight.

Back to our trip: Subway to financial district, walk to The Battery and from there we’ve boarded on Statue Cruises to Ellis Island, to the Lady Liberty.

Lady Liberty-Ellis Island

After being for years a strategic point of the American Army, Ellis Island was the gateway of millions of immigrants who landed in the United States until the year 1954. In 1907, the record was 1,250,000 people.

One curiosity is that immigrants arrived at several ports in the United States, such as San Francisco or Miami. Those coming by Ellis Island, near the port of New York, in the first or second class, were dismissed from the Border inspection. American immigration concluded that these would be good immigrants for their excellent financial conditions.

During the First World War, the island was used as a place of custody for enemies of the American State.
In 1965, Ellis Island it was declared a National Monument, and it’s the place of the National Museum of Immigration.

Lady Liberty

It was a gift from France to celebrate the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. Completely ready was only ten years after, in 1886.

It was inspired by the many immigrants who sailed towards America looking for a new life. It was declared a UNESCO historical heritage in 1984.

The boat trip is short, lasts about 20 minutes, and the view of the island of Manhattan is spectacular! It is a 3 in 1 ticket: Boat trip, visit the Statue and the Island.

In the afternoon, visit the Memorial Word Trade Center, SoHo and Whitney Museum of American Art. After dinner and shopping at Chelsea Market.

Memorial Word Trade Center

SoHo

Rooftop Whitney Museum of American Art

Chelsea Market

Sunday

Delicious Breakfast at Big Daddy’s. Subway to Downtown Brooklyn, exit on station Jay St. to Gospel Choir on Brooklyn Tabernacle. On Sundays, they have coral at 09 am, 11 am and 1 pm. I recommended to arrive a bit early.

After, walk around and lunch in Brooklyn downtown. In the afternoon, visit the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum.

Great museum for children and adults’ fans of airplanes and warships, the museum sits on the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, which completes 75 years in 2018. This used in the Second World War, in the Cold War and Vietnam War. All about Intrepid, you can read on this post, link here.

Dinner at the Italian Restaurant Regional Upper Manha, (+1 (212) 666-1915 ·2607 Broadway, 10025 New York) link here.

In the evening, departure to JFK Airport…
