Here some boat trip suggestions for a family day trip on Lake Lucerne. The city is a perfect base in Switzerland with kids; here, you can board to go to Mount Rigi, make the Golden Round trip to Mount Pilatus, and easily travel to Interlaken, Zurich, and other Cantons in Central Switzerland.
Lucerne- Verkershaus Lido
During summer we love to make a short family trip from Lucerne Pier 2 to Verkershaus – Lido (Museum of Transport), the trip costs about CHF 8,-per adult and is the most beautiful way to get on Public Pool Lido.
Weggis
You will feel enchanted by Weggis, I promise! 🙂 Up to Lucerne Riviera!! Here you can take the Cable Car to go up to Mount Rigi.

Vitznau – Rigi
Vitznau is also a charming village, just in front of Lake Lucerne. From Vitznau, the trip to the Mountain Queen of the Mountains is by train!

If not yet, you have to make this trip =) Daily departures, price CHF 27.00, children 13.50. With Swiss Travel Pass or Half Fare CHF 16.50 per adult. This route from Lucerne to Beckenried is also one of the most beautiful from the “Grand Tour of Switzerland.” One part of the trip is made by Ferry “Tell Sprung.” Part of Switzerland’s history, this Chapel was build in 1880.
